​Consequences of the incident on 28th December at Būtingė Terminal have been completely eliminated. No pollution has been detected in either Lithuania or Latvia, followed by completion of the works in the Baltic Sea by the national emergency services. According to the local authorities, the volume of oil spill was limited to 480 liters approximately.
 
The coastal area and the Terminal are subject to continuous monitoring to ensure safety of maritime traffic and environmental protection. Safe infrastructure of Būtingė Terminal operated by AB ORLEN Lietuva will be restored on 3 January 2021, whereas the effects of the incident on the environment have been offset thanks to the prompt and well-coordinated actions of AB ORLEN Lietuva, Ministry of Environment of the Republic of Lithuania, and the relevant authorities.
