Lithuania lost an extraordinary man. Gediminas Kirkilas, former Prime Minister of the Government, was a highly intellectual and resolute person, always adhering to the fundamental values. During his long political carrier, he made a significant contribution to creating and strengthening a west-oriented country.
Under his leadership as the Prime Minister, ORLEN was able to come to Lithuania by acquiring Mažeikių Nafta and ensuring that this largest Polish capital investment in Lithuania would become the cornerstone of the energy security for the entire Baltic region.
