AB Mažeikių Nafta reports unauthorised connection to the main product pipeline Ilukstė – Ventspils on 25 March 2009 in Lūdė forest, Juodupė Elderate, Rokiškis district. The product pipeline is used for transporting of the product from Russia. The pipeline within the territory of Lithuania is owned and monitored by AB Mažeikių Nafta.

3 km hose was found in the event place, it lead from the pipeline to the abandoned settlement in Juodupė Elderate.

AB Mažeikių Nafta has incurred damage resulting from this unaithorised connection. The damage amount is being calculated. The event is investigated by Rokiškis police department.

According to AB Mažeikių Nafta, this is the first incident of connecting to the product pipeline this year.
