Rebuild of the tower, which was ravaged during the fire last year in October, is approaching to completion.
A large crane has erected the vacuum tower, weighing over 300 tons, on the new elevated foundation platform.
“Currently we are finishing installation of the tower internals. Having completed the welding activities, we will perform hydrotesting. Later piping, instrument feed and instrumentation cables, and pumps will be installed,” - says Aloyzas Noreika, Project Manager for AB Mažeikių Nafta vacuum tower rebuild.
According to the schedule, all vacuum tower rebuild works will be completed in the fourth quarter of this year. The rebuild of the tower will allow AB Mažeikių Nafta to increase crude oil run rates from the current 20 000 up to 28 000 t of crude oil per day.
