ORLEN Lietuva becomes Presidency Partner

​ORLEN Lietuva handed over to the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs the symbolic fuel card worth 400,000 litas, confirming the support for the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Lithuania takes over the presidency from Ireland on July 1, 2013.
 
The fuel cards will enable free-of-charge refueling of the car fleet, which will serve the participants of meetings and conferences held as part of the Presidency. Danielia Krelovska, the representative of ORLEN Lietuva, said that the Lithuanian presidency is a major and significant event for the country and the company, as the presidency’s partner.
 
“As a representative of one of Lithuania’s largest companies, I am glad and proud that we have contributed to this important event and to promotion of Lithuania and the whole Baltic region not only in the European Union, but also in other countries. I wish Lithuania the successful presidency, which will bring a positive feedback to the future of entire Europe,” said D. Krelovska.

Thanks to the agreement with the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, ORLEN Lietuva has joined the exclusive group of partner companies engaged in the organization of the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union. Previously, in 2011, the Company’s shareholder, Polish Company PKN ORLEN, was the official partner of Poland’s presidency of the EU Council.
ORLEN Lietuva operates the only petroleum refinery in the Baltic States, crude oil and petroleum product network, and marine oil terminal. The company generates the highest revenue in Lithuania and is one of the largest exporters and major tax payers in the country.
