AB Mazeikiu Nafta informs that the insurance companies have made the first payment in the amount of USD 70 million (LTL 173.7 million or EUR 50.3 million) in compensation of the losses caused by the 12th October 2006 fire.

The final amount of all losses and insurance payment will be determined having completed all of the Vacuum Distillation Unit rebuild activities. According to the schedule, the works will be completed in the fourth quarter of this year.

“This payment is very important because it confirms the commitment of the insurance companies to cover the costs associated with rebuild of the Vacuum Distillation Unit and business interruption losses,” – said Marek Mroczkowski, General Director of AB Mazeikiu Nafta.
