Mažeikių Nafta Becomes Lithuanian Exporter of the Year 2008

Today, Mažeikių Nafta was announced as the Lithuanian Exporter of the Year 2008. Albertas Gimbutas, Company’s Deputy General Director, received the award during the ceremony of the 20th Anniversary of the Lithuanian Confederation of Industrialists, held in Vilnius City Hall.

Mažeikių Nafta was among 14 Lithuanian companies nominated for this title. These companies make products of the Lithuanian origin, export such products, or provide export services.

According to the Lithuanian Department of Statistics, the country’s companies exported commodities for the value of 55.5 billion litas. Mažeikių Nafta’s export, which amounted to 12.97 billion litas last year, accounts for more than 23 per cent of the national exports.

In 2008, the Company exported more than 75 per cent of its products to such markets as Latvia, Estonia, Western Europe, USA, Canada, and Ukraine. Sales of Mažeikių Nafta products on the latter market are increasing consistently and significantly. The Company supplies Jet A-1, low-sulfur gasoline and diesel fuel, and other products to the Lithuanian and foreign markets.

Mažeikių Nafta pays great attention to exports and currently is looking for new markets, sales channels, and market opportunities. The Company sells not only traditional products but also responds to new challenges and offers new products, such as emulsified fuel for power stations.
