ORLEN Lietuva Refinery conducted the civil safety drill, during which the Company’s civil safety forces simulated the fire fighting and emergency medical care activities.
As per the civil safety drill scenario, a fire occurred as a result of the release and ignition of the high-temperature VGO at the ORLEN Lietuva Refinery site. The Refinery’s emergency situations operational centre, firefighting, security, medical and electrical teams, the Company’s employees and contractors participated in the drill.
“According to the initial assessment, the drill showed that the Company’s Emergency Situations Coordination Center is capable of managing the situation and acting as per procedure outlined in the emergency response plan,” said Viktoras Vasilavičius, ORLEN Lietuva’s Deputy General Director for Operations, who was in charge of the drill.
The Refinery level civil safety drills are conducted as per law requirements once every two years.
