Cooperation agreement signed between ORLEN Lietuva and Faculty of Economics and Informatics in Vilnius of the University of Bialystok

On 5 October 2018, Public Company ORLEN Lietuva and Faculty of Economics and Informatics in Vilnius of the University of Bialystok have formalized the partnership of both parties. Cooperation agreement was signed by the General Director of ORLEN Lietuva Michal Rudnicki and member of the Board of Directors Marek Golębiewski and the Dean of Faculty Mieczysława Zdanowicz. Importance of mutual cooperation has been confirmed by the presence of Polish diplomats - the ceremony of signature of this agreement was attended by Mr. Marcin Zieniewicz, the Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Vilnius. 

 Agreement signed between ORLEN Lietuva and the University of Bialystok should build value in two areas - science and practice. It has been agreed that the parties would actively cooperate in the areas of scientific research, organization of scientific conferences, meetings with the students of Faculty of Economics and Informatics in Vilnius facilitating their initiatives, participation in different trainings and studies. Furthermore, ORLEN Lietuva committed to extend opportunities to students to have practical training and internships in the Company enabling them to acquire practical skills future employers expect for.

This agreement is the first cooperation agreement signed by ORLEN Lietuva with higher education institution. 'Conclusion of this agreement is in line with our core values which assist in the management of company in Lithuania and which are respected and adhered to within entire ORLEN Capital Group', said General Director of ORLEN Lietuva Mr. Michal Rudnicki. 'We believe that such cooperation between education and business is necessary to adapt education to the needs of labor market and to increase the attractiveness of education and training.

Faculty of Economics and Informatics in Vilnius of the University of Bialystok was opened in 2007. Bachelor's degree is extended to students in the areas of economy, EU affairs and informatics. This Faculty is the first Faculty of Polish University established abroad.
