Naftininkai Street in Mažeikiai greets festive season adorned with novel illuminated decorations from France. Every year AB Mažeikių Nafta sponsors decoration of the Christmas Tree. This year it decorated the street of the city for the first time.

„We have chosen not any street but the one that has a symbolic name—Naftininkų with intention. „According to our knowledge, this is the only street in the country with such name, therefore we wanted during Christmas it would shine in an exclusive manner“, said Rosvaldas Gorbačiovas, Director of Public Relations of AB Mažeikių Nafta.

The street was brightened up by luminous decorations called Snowfall. Mass production of these decorations commenced just a year ago. The analogous festive lighting elements became known seeing the 2008 in. Then the famous Avenue des Champs-Élysées in Paris was decorated by the Snowfall.  Decorations are manufactured by a Belgian company.

According to decoration specialists, this is the first year when such decorations are being used in Lithuania. One shopping center in Vilnius was decorated by single-sided Snowfall. Double-sided decoration elements, where light source could be visible from both sides by the angle of 180 degrees, were used in Lithuania just in Naftininkų Street, Mažeikiai. For Snowfall elements were created special decorations of a new design that are not used in any other Lithuanian or foreign town.

Originality of decorations lays in their economy—they provide an excellent lighting effect and are extremely economical at the same time. Decorations of a similar size that are using usual bulbs have a capacity of 200 – 400 Watts, and Snowfall uses just 3 Watts of energy.
