2018 is an exceptional year both for Lithuania as well as Poland. February 16th for Lithuania, and November 11th for Poland tell us a compelling story of the people who have succeeded in reinstating their countries on the European map where they always belonged.

On this occasion, Public Company ORLEN Lietuva and Mažeikiai District Municipality invite to commemorate the centennial of both countries independence by keeping alive the memory of the brotherhood. On 8 December, the sculpture will be unveiled in the pergola of Renavas Mansion to honor the two eminent brothers who grew up there: the signatory of the Act of Independence of Lithuania Stanislovas Narutavičius (1862–1932) and the first President of the Polish Republic Gabrielius Narutavičius (1865–1922).

The sculpture making a tribute to the historical figures is standing on the granite pedestal, with the height of the sculpture reaching around five feet and being cast from a solid bronze. The sculpture shows the silhouettes of the two brothers facing different directions. The sculpture which will add an additional color to the cultural landscape of Renavas Mansion has been created by Architect Algirdas Žebrauskas and the famous Lithuanian Sculptor Romualdas Kvintas who passed away more than a month ago.

The opening ceremony will welcome the Secretary of State within the Office of the President of the Republic of Poland Wojciech Kolarski, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Lithuania Urszula Doroszewska and Ambasador of the Republic of Poland to the Republic of Latvia Monika Michaliszyn, Mayors of Mažeikiai and Telšiai District Municipalities, management of Public Company ORLEN Lietuva, relatives of Sculptor Romualdas Kvintas as well as other distinguished guests.
