On 9 November 2009, Public Company ORLEN Lietuva signed a contract with AB Lietuvos Elektrine for supply of less than 75 thous. tons of fuel oil. This is the amount that the Company will supply to the Elektrenai Power Plant during the period from 1 December 2009 to 30 April 2010. Signing of the fuel oil supply contract is the outcome of the tender for supply of 500 thous. tons of fuel oil to the Power Plant in Elektrenai. AB ORLEN Lietuva is one of the five companies, which, as decided by the bidding committee, will supply fuel oil for generation of electricity to AB Lietuvos Elektrine during the above-mentioned period.

"The bidding committee’s decision to divide the fuel oil supply contract to five companies was a great surprise to me. Proposals made by the companies were absolutely different. I would like to emphasize that the Mazeikiai Refinery is capable of ensuring stable fuel oil supply to Elektrenai, as defined in the terms & conditions of the tender," said Krystian Pater, General Director of Public Company ORLEN Lietuva.

The Company was the major and reliable supplier of high quality fuel oil to the Power Plant in Elektrenai.

Most of the fuel oil produced by Public Company ORLEN Lietuva is sold by sea. The fuel oil which has been stored in stock for Elektrenai will, under similar conditions, be resold to foreign clients.
