MAZEIKIAI - Маzeikiu Nafta reported its consolidated preliminary financial results for three months of 2006 to the Vilnius Stock Exchange.
The Company earned 133.628 million Litas (46.549 million US dollars) of un-audited net profit in the first quarter of 2006 under the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), while un-audited net profit for the same period of 2005 was 195.428 million Litas (74.358 million US dollars).
Company's revenues reached 3.275 billion Litas (1.140 billion US dollars) during the three months of 2006 compared to 2.202 billion Litas (838.052 million US dollars) revenues during the same period of 2005.
Company sold 2.25 million metric tons of refined products as compared with total sales of 2.08 million metric tons during the first quarter of 2005.
Western Europe remains the largest market for Mazeikiu Nafta with 44 per cent of sales volumes (992 thousand metric tons) followed by the USA (21 per cent or 466 thousand metric tons) and Lithuania (17 per cent or 385 thousand metric tons). Estonia made 7 per cent of sales (151 thousand metric tons), Latvia 5 per cent (116 thousand metric tons), Poland 4 per cent (97 thousand metric tons) and 2 per cent of sales fell on Ukraine and other CIS countries (39 thousand metric tons).
Маzeikiu Nafta refined 2.273 million metric tons of crude and other feedstock during the three months of 2006, which is by 5 thousand metric tons more than in the same period a year before.
The Butinge Terminal loaded 909 thousand metric tons of crude during the three months of 2006, compared to 1 million metric tons for the same period of 2005.
The pipeline system transhipped 4.549 million metric tons of crude and diesel during the three months of 2006, compared to 4.44 million metric tons for the same period a year ago.
Маzeikiu Nafta collected and paid over 750 million Litas in taxes during the three months of 2006. The company also repaid 7.861 million Litas (2.784 million US dollars) in principal on long-term loans and a total of 21.804 million Litas (7.580 million US dollars) in interest payments, including 14.496 million Litas (5.056 million USD) in interest paid to the Lithuanian state budget.
