Public Company ORLEN Lietuva hereby informs that during the 24 November 2009 night somebody attempted to tie into the main product pipeline Ilukste-Ventspils in Birzai district close to Butautai village. The attempted unauthorized connection was detected by the Company’s employees upon activation of leak detectors.

Responsible services were called for. At the time being, the attempted unauthorized connection is being eliminated. The emergency response service of Public Company ORLEN Lietuva and the police group of operative activities are involved in the work. Primary inspection of the site revealed no damage to the environment.

This is the seventh incident of similar character this year. None of the cases has been solved so far.
