Accreditation Certificate Presented to Mazeikiu Nafta Quality Analysis Center

MAÞEIKIAI — Today Lithuanian National Accreditation Bureau presented the European Union-recognized accreditation certificate to AB Mazeikiu Nafta Quality Analysis Center.

The certificate confirms that the analysis of light petroleum products conducted by Quality Analysis Center (QAC) comply with the requirements stipulated in LST EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard, which is subject to determination of laboratory competence. The accreditation provided to the Company is applicable to 53 analysis methods and 2 sampling methods. As of today all analysis protocols issued by AB Mazeikiu Nafta shall have the accreditation symbol confirming that QAC has developed, introduced and applied quality analysis system.

Mazeikiu Nafta pays high attention to the quality of the products produced. During the processes the quality of intermediate products is controlled on a constant basis; quality certificates are issued to final products. Moreover, QAC conducts the analysis upon request of clients in Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia.

Mazeikiu Nafta Central Laboratory was founded in 1979. Its goal and main activity is quality control of feedstock supplied and products produced. Central Laboratory was reorganized into Quality Analysis Center in 2001. QAC has light oil petroleum products analysis laboratory, gas, sulfur and heavy petroleum product analysis laboratory, research work and feed incoming control laboratory as well as steam, water and air analysis laboratory and servicing section. QAC follows quality management policies, which assure effective professional practices, objectiveness and performance of analysis in a qualitative manner.

QAC has been successfully participating in proficiency testing programs in the Netherlands and France since 2000. In 2004 the Center was awarded three "Certificates of Excellence" by the Institute for Interlaboratory Studies (The Netherlands) for jet and diesel analysis and cetane number establishment.

The Quality Analysis Center has joined the International Measurement Evaluation Programme (IMEP) launched by the European Commission Joint Research Center Institute or Reference Materials and Measurements.
