ORLEN Group’s priority is to ensure the continuity of work of our refineries and the energy security of Poland and the entire region, including Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. Currently, supplies to the ORLEN Group refineries in Poland, the Czech Republic and Lithuania are carried out on an ongoing basis. We are making additional spot purchases to the ORLEN Group from the North Sea and from outside Europe.

PKN ORLEN observes the situation in Ukraine and is prepared for any scenario, including the complete suspension of supplies from the eastern direction. It is solely the result of activities carried out over the last four years. During this time, we have examined many different grades of crude oil in ORLEN Group’s refineries and are therefore prepared to secure work of refineries in Poland, Lithuania and Czech Republic in any scenario. PKN ORLEN has also successfully diversified crude oil supplies.

The key element guaranteeing the long-term energy security of the entire Central and Eastern Europe will be the completion of the merger of PKN ORLEN with the LOTOS Group. One of the elements of this process is the contract for the supply of up to 20 million tonnes of crude oil per year to the system of the new ORLEN Group, i.e. the refineries in Płock, Gdańsk, Lithuania and two plants in the Czech Republic. This is a real action that enables further diversification of the directions of supplies of crude oil of stable quality. It would not be possible if the merger did not take place.
