Power Plant
The main purpose of the combined cycle power house is to generate and sell electricity and heat power. AB Mažeikių Elektrinė, having a license of an independent supplier, sold electricity directly to AB Mazeikiu Nafta.
On 28 December 2006, AB Mažeikių Elektrinė was wound up as a legal entity; it was reorganized by merger into AB Mazeikiu Nafta, which succeeded all assets, rights and obligations. After reorganization, the Power House became a division of AB Mazeikiu Nafta.
Five shops of the Power House — Chemical Shop, Heat Energy Instrumentation and Automation Shop, Boiler-Turbine Shop, Electrical Shop, and Centralized Maintenance Shop — now report directly to the Refining Division.
The Power House employs 264 persons.
Water Preparation
Based on the design heat energy demand, the Power House is equipped with the water chemical treatment facilities, which are the largest in Lithuania. They are capable of desalting 630 cubic meters of water per hour, softening 115 cubic meters of water per hour, and treating 420 cubic meters of condensate returned from the refinery.
Fuel Oil Pump Station
The Fuel Oil Pump Station consists of two-stage pumps, heaters, and additive installations. Fuel oil is delivered from the Pump Station to the Boiler House by two lines. The Fuel Oil Installations are controlled from the Fuel Oil Installations control room.
Controls
Processes in the heat installations are controlled from a group control room. The control and process data collection are computerized.
